Dun Laoghaire

purenoumena December 15, 2011

While in Ireland, we spent a few days in Dun Laoghaire, just a short DART ride away from Dublin. Dun Laoghaire

There are two expansive piers that reach out into the waters, extending the already beautiful coastal walk.

Dun Laoghaire

We were blessed again with amazing weather. Ireland apparently took a break from months of rain to give us almost an entire week of sunny days.

Dun Laoghaire

Pretty as a postcard, the boats on the water.

Dun Laoghaire

There were so many birds along the pier and in the water - apparently Dun Laoghaire is a great place for bird watching.

On a clear day, you can see Howth from the shores of Dun Laoghaire.

Birds weren't the only cuteness swimming in the water...

Nick posing in a background so picturesque it looks almost I superimposed him into the shot. You can see the James Joyce museum in the background  - unfortunately it was closed while we were in town, though.

Dun Laoghaire

Walking on water is allowed in Dun Laoghaire, and recommended so as to avoid the jagged rocks below.

The saddest part of our trip to Dun Laoghaire was that Nick never did figure out how to get off that rock. Clearly he missed the "Walking on water permitted" sign. Oh well. The honeymoon was fun while it lasted.
